Handicaps

If you have participated in 3 weekly DGAF Tournaments, I will use your DGAF 8 ball ranking. The list of players who have done so are at page bottom.

If you have NOT participated in 3 weekly DGAF tournament, I will use Fargorate, but under these conditions

  1. I will use current Fargorate if you have 1000 games of robustness

  2. I will add 50 points to current Fargorate if you have between 500-999 games of robustness

  3. I will add 100 points to current Fargorate if you have between 200-499 games of robustness

  4. I will add 250 points to current Fargorate if you have between 0-199 games of robustness

It is my job to protect the tournament and be loyal to the players who play in the weekly tournaments! Come and play in the weekly tournaments to get an established ranking and avoid Fargorate penalties

Partner ratings will be combined. I.E….5 and 7 =12 Rating, 7+3 and 6 =16 Rating

You only get a DGAF Partners Rating if BOTH players have a DGAF Rating. + Rating means that you get those + games IF you make it to the $$$$ rounds

Sportsmanship

Zero tolerance for poor sportsmanship. No sharking, bitching, complaining about handicaps. If you slam a stick on the table or knock balls off the table, you will be DQ’d. Do not walk around the table while your opponent is shooting. Stay in one spot. Do not talk to your opponent while shooting. If you say “good game” before they shoot the 8 ball, the game is conceded. If you don’t like it, don’t play. Go complain on facebook.

Eliminations

If you are eliminated by a break and run, you have a chance to break and run. If you break and run, your opponent does not receive a loss, but you play a 3rd game sudden death. You are just fending off elimination. Your opponent can never lose a chip.

Format & Schedule

This tournament is about efficiency and speed. Speed is the #1 rule! It overrules everything else. If a match can be played, play it. Players should be playing.

Players Meeting - 4:45PM (Not 4:50, Not 5:00PM). If you are not present for auction…..you will NOT be AUCTIONED. Be an adult and show up on time.

Round 1 - 5:15PM - 90 min + Break

Round 2 - 7:00PM - 60 min + Break

Round 3 - 8:15PM - 45 min

Game Rules

  • BCA rules - Flip or lag each game for break.

  • Rack your own. Can’t win/lose on the break (8 spots or re-rack).

  • Open after the break (Cannot use 8 as 1st ball).

  • Call ball & pocket. Cue ball scratch on 8 is NOT a loss unless 8 ball is pocketed.

  • If you need a shot watched, FILM IT in slo-mo

Partner Rules

  • Rack your own, not for your partner

  • Stay in rotation for each GAME, new rotation each rack

  • Can talk anytime, anywhere.

  • 1 swap per rack - players can change rotation once per rack (A,B,B,A)

  • Strict 12 minute/game rule. After 12 minutes, 30 second shot clock is in effect.

Score Keeping & Speed Violations

Later rounds….I’m tired of chasing people who go off to smoke. You must check with me and the schedule so I can tell you if you have a gap. If you go off to smoke I will call your match, and if you don’t show up within 2 minutes, you lose that game. There are PLANNED breaks for everyone!

For each round there is a schedule posted. Each group of players is responsible for policing each other and keep things moving!!! You know the schedule, so get your quarters, drinks, cigarette break out of the way. I’m not your mother, if you can’t be an adult, and be on time, you will be DQ’d. Once a game is done, BOTH PLAYERS must mark time finished, circle winner, & initial. The next available match clock STARTS once BOTH players have completed paperwork. Next match has 2 minutes to break or players not ready will forfeit. 12 minutes per game, then 30 second shot clock. If there is another available table, go for it. If there is an available match to play further down the schedule, PLAY IT!

Shot clock violations

  1. Warning

  2. Foul - Ball in hand

  3. Loss of game

  4. DQ from tournament
