Handicaps

Since most pool halls and billiards clubs are supported by leagues, I will use an established Fargorate or APA as a starting handicap. Established means over 1000 games in Fargo or 50 matches in APA. If you have 500-999 Fargo games or 25-50 matches APA, you will be increased 1 handicap. Less than that, increased 2 handicaps. I will also honor some major tournament in house ranking, such as Big Tyme, JerseyGirl, etc. If you are not established, I WILL over rank you, to be fair to everyone. Don’t Like it? Don’t Play.

These are just preliminary rankings anyways. The first 5 players eliminated from each tournament will receive an extra loss for the following tournament( If a player has + rating, that indicates that if they make it to the $, they will receive the extra + losses).

Depending on the number of players, I may reduce the number of losses to move the tournament along, ensuring we finish around midnight

Starting 8 ball handicap chart (9 ball +1)

Greater than 715 - 2 Losses

680-715 - 3 Losses + every other player gets bonus loss in $$$ rounds

641-680 - 3 Losses

601-640 - 4 Losses

551-600 - 5 Losses

501-550(APA5/6) - 6 Losses

451-500(APA4) - 7 Losses

401-450(APA3) - 7 Losses + 2 bonus loss if made to $$$ rounds

Less than 400 (APA2) - 7 Losses + 3 bonus loss if made to $$$ rounds

I do not use an APA7 ranking for a starting handicap, because it varies so wildly between a 525-850 Fargo
